We are delighted to invite you to attend the Greater Pittsburgh 26th Lunar New Year Fair and Show in 2023, Year of the Rabbit! The Fair and Show are presented to you by CASTP Organization and co-presented by Carnegie Museum of Art at its prestigious venue in Oakland.

The Fair and Show celebrate cultural diversity and science/technology. We share with our neighbors the joy of the spring (lunar new year) and a diversified culture in Greater Pittsburgh for a strong community. And it is a celebration for the science and technology development that is the driving force for this region’s economy, in the past and in the future.
The well-known Show includes the most dazzling dancing and singing performances from the Pittsburgh Chinese community with the wonderful participation of the African Americans, the Filipino Americans, the Korean Americans, the Malaysia Americans, the Thai Americans, and their talented friends and neighbors and local art groups. You will hear the folk music performed jointly by New York and Philadelphia artists with the local artists, the sound of music that echoed for hundreds or thousands of years. Intertwined with the Show, the Fair displays many instruments from different parts of the world. The Fair highlights the celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday with traditional Chinese folk art! A Fox Chapel photographer presents Journey to the East, a 2-year trip by foot in western China in the 1980’s. A collection of abstract paintings by an award-winning New York painter, Hedy O’Beil, will be brought to you at the event. You will have a fun encounter with the robots created by CMU engineers, the VR games by local entrepreneurs, and many more! All attendees are encouraged to wear festive clothes of your own choice, including the traditional festive outfits, Qipao, HanFu, tunics, etc.
CASTP has successfully hosted the Lunar New Year Celebration in the past 25 years. Operated by volunteers and community donations, CASTP is a non-profit and non-political organization founded in 1994 and draws its members from highly educated and experienced professionals serving in science, technology, finance, business, education, culture, and healthcare in the greater Pittsburgh area. CASTP strives to promote local economy, cultural diversity, and member benefits.
Carnegie Museum of Art is arguably the first museum of contemporary art in the United States and one of the most dynamic major art institutions in the United States . It collects more than 30,000 objects featuring a broad spectrum of visual arts. The museum is committed to global engagement and regional advancement. Through its programming, exhibitions, and publications, it frequently explores the role of art and artists in confronting key social issues of our time, combining and juxtaposing local and global perspectives.

除了匹兹堡华人社区众星璀璨的舞蹈和歌唱表演之外，本届新年晚会还将包括来自非裔、菲律宾裔、韩裔、马来西亚裔、泰裔等不同社群亲友们的才华横溢的演出、以及匹兹堡当地艺术团体的精彩参与。您将有机会聆听到由纽约和费城艺术家与匹兹堡当地艺术家联合表演的、千百年来仍余音绕梁的民间音乐。与新年晚会同时进行的还有新年嘉年华。在嘉年华上，您将得以参观来自世界不同地区的许多乐器。新年嘉年华还将以中国传统民间艺术的方式来纪念马丁·路德·金博士的生辰! 除此之外，嘉年华也将展出Fox Chapel摄影师的一套题为“东方之旅”的摄影作品（作品记录了他在上世纪80年代在中国西部进行的一次为期两年的徒步旅行），以及来自纽约的获奖画家 Hedy O’Beil 的抽象画作。您还有机会与CMU工程师制造的机器人、本地企业家开发的VR游戏进行趣味互动！本届嘉年华和晚会的活动丰富多彩、乐趣十足。我们欢迎所有参会者都穿上自己的节日盛装，比如传统节日服饰、旗袍、汉服、长衫等。
