Jimmy Zhu (朱健刚教授), Carnegie Mellon University. “Factors in a Successful Career Path.”
Dr. Jian-Gang (Jimmy) Zhu, an IEEE Fellow, is the Director at the Data Storage Systems Center and a full Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He holds the endowed chair of ABB Professor in the College of Engineering. He holds a courtesy appointment as a Professor in the Department of Material Science and Engineering and a courtesy appointment as a Professor in the Department of Physics. He also holds the Cheung Kong Chair Professorship in Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China.
Lorraine Hsu, PPG Industries. “What do recruiters read on your resume.”
Lorraine Hsu is a senior research chemist, leading the Architectural Coatings team at the Coatings and Innovation Center at PPG Industries. Lorraine received her B.S. degree in Chemistry with honors at Carnegie Mellon University in 2003, followed by an Organic Chemistry Ph.D. at Northwestern University. In 2009, she was a Research Associate for Professors Christoph Weder and Stuart Rowan at Case Western Reserve University in the Macromolecular Science and Engineering department. Since her time at PPG, Lorraine has also worked in the Substrate Protection business unit on resin development for Industrial Electrocoat. She has been actively recruiting for PPG since 2011.
